Dr. John C. Nichols is a board-certified ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience specializing in advanced cataract surgery and glaucoma care. He performs a high volume of cataract procedures each week, with a particular focus on premium intraocular lens implantation, including toric lenses for astigmatism correction and presbyopic lenses to reduce dependence on reading glasses. In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Nichols is skilled in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). He regularly performs procedures such as iStent, Hydrus, and goniotomy. His broad clinical expertise includes the management of diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, and minor ocular trauma. Dr. Nichols is known for his meticulous surgical technique and compassionate, patient-centered approach. Dr. Nichols believes that excellent vision is life-changing. He is committed to taking the time to understand each patient’s individual needs and lifestyle so he can deliver results that truly improve their daily life. Outside of medicine, Dr. Nichols enjoys hiking, road trips, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family. Dr. Nichols earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Saint Louis University Eye Institute. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
